Jim
James Winifred Darkmagic III is the scion of a mysterious, multiplanar wizarding family. As an entertainer and purveyor of the ‘Jim Darkmagic Experience,’ the legendary mage can often be found in markets and town squares performing feats of mundane legerdemain. The renown he has earned for these feats is nearly equaled by the reputation that follows him as a Chief Arcanist (and occasional arsonist) for Acquisitions Incorporated.
Changes
Jim will be a reworked champion in the Ahghairon’s Day event on 5 August 2026.
Only abilities that have seen some changes will be displayed here - and be aware that there’s a lot of guesswork involved. Some abilities may not have names - some may have the wrong names - or specialisations might not be marked as such - etc.. Focus on the effect data itself.
Please do me a favour and don’t get all melodramatic about what you find here. I - and CNE - don’t appreciate it. These are spoilers and will almost certainly change before release - likely multiple times. That and we don’t have access to any upgrade data prior to release. Making assumptions on how the champions will turn out based on this information would be premature.

Fan Club (Guess)
Increases the damage of Jim and everyone in the columns in front of and behind him by 400% for each affected Champion, stacking multiplicatively.

Adventures and Variants
Unlock Adventure: Reclaiming the Past (Jim) (Complete Area 50)
Help Laeral Silverhand track down a retired Open Lord.
Variant 1: Spelling “Bee” (Complete Area 75)
The Champions continue to struggle to spell/pronounce “Ahghairon’s Day,” so spelling “Bees” spawn at random. Whenever a bee is killed, it decreases the damage of whoever killed it by 90% for 20 seconds. The effect stacks multiplicatively and the cooldown resets if they kill another bee before it expires.
Variant 2: Magical Misadventure (Complete Area 125)
Only Champions whose base attacks are magic can be used.
Variant 3: Center of the Multiverse (Complete Area 175)
Jim starts out in the formation and can’t be moved. Only formation slots which Jim narrowly considers useful to himself can be used.
