Bastion
This appears to be some kind of new system in the game. We know very little about it except for some text defines and graphics.
We know it will let players unlock rooms to gain access to some game systems - such as Parlor for Patrons / Observatory for Events. We also know that rooms will be able to level up (though what effect this will have is anyone’s guess).
The assumption is that this will be some kind of new-player onboarding system.

A Bastion is a location that belongs to a player character: a home, a stronghold, and a place of power that the character develops over the course of a campaign. ~2025 DMG
- Bastions are a central hub for various systems
- Includes rooms that you can unlock and upgrade over time.
- These rooms path & grant access to the various features and systems of the game in a more explicit manner than currently available.
- Allows players to immediately get an idea about the the scope/depth of the game without overwhelming them with buttons and dialogs.

Tutorial Texts
State #1
The Innkeeper was so grateful that we saved his Inn that he’s given us use of his old family Bastion. This will be a good base of operations for our adventures together in the future.
State #2
You can explore the rooms in the Bastion by selecting them. Right now we’ve got the Guild Hall, Tavern, and Treasure Room unlocked. Existing rooms can be upgraded and new rooms can be unlocked over time. Look here, the Shop can be unlocked right now.
State #3
Great. Ye can now access the shop anytime ye want to. Other rooms will become available as you play, but you can explore them now to see what you’ll need to do to unlock them, and what they do for you once they’re unlocked.
State #4
Let’s check out the upgrades for the Guild Hall.
State #5
Ah! You need to complete four unique adventures, and then you’ll be able to upgrade the Guild Hall and unlock a new Campaign or two! Sounds easy enough.

You can look around a bit, but once you’re ready to get back to smashing things, click on the Campaign Map on the table here to pick your next adventure.
